I show this video every year when students are learning their parts of speech. I love that it could be reviewed by students who may not necessarily know the name of the song or where to find it. Creating a link makes it simple!
Fun throwback! I loved Schoolhouse Rock as a kid, and I use this video in 8th grade too when we do a "Comma Crazy" unit. Many students need a review of coordinating and subordinating conjuctions, and this vid is a captivating quickie!
Hi there! I teach 6th grade ELA at Highview, and I wanted to follow some blogs of other ELA teachers in the district. In 6th grade at Highview, we teach a unit called "Parts of Speech Olympics," and we use the Schoolhouse Rocks videos. It is pretty impressive that in the ever-changing world of education, truly good teaching resources stand the test of time and are used for years and years and years! Thanks for sharing!
